A Day In The Life Of Victoria Petkovic Short Account Manager

I sort of ‘fell into’ marketing; it wasn’t necessarily a career choice and it certainly wasn’t related to my geography degree! Yet what a fall it was! There’s not many people who can claim to love what they do and to spend not only working hours, but also non-working hours excited about their job! Granted, there are times when this job infuriates me, or gets just a little too hectic for comfort, but I can honestly say 99% of the time I love it; and that is why I am the lucky one!

As a Company Director and an Account Manager I have my finger on the pulse of this business and flourish knowing that every decision I make has an effect on the company. I am responsible for handling client accounts, overseeing staff training and helping business growth. Working with my clients, I get an immense sense of satisfaction that comes from trusted relationships, mutual respect and a common goal. We specialise in doing what a client needs, not just what they want, so I’ve become a mini expert in all sorts of things; from telecoms to solar panels, coffee to beauty treatments; some of which are in my comfort zone, some of which aren’t!

Some of the highlights of my life with apt include:

  • Lobbying for change and representing a client at Westminster
  • Appearing live on Sky News, albeit looking a little nervous
  • Supporting over 100 interns, work experiencers and University Students gain experience and an insight into the field – hopefully inspiring them too
  • Making a difference for each and every client, no matter how large or how small!

I won’t witter on about who I am or what I do – people have much more interesting ways to spend their time – but what I will say is I love our team; I thrive on their ambition, creativity, enthusiasm and seemingly unending energy! apt is a fantastic company to work for and a bubbly one too, but then again you should probably make up your own mind because I am biased!
