apt has welcomed the arrival of a new team member this January. So, with no further ado, we welcome Jessica Cheape as our Junior Account Executive! Jess applied to apt marketing & PR towards the end of 2014, when we were looking for an ‘apt’ person and Jess was looking to make a positive start in her Creative Career.
Jess has a strong background within all aspects of media and she’s only 21! With experience ranging from events planning to video production, Jess knew she wanted a career in marketing & pr. Straight from school, Jess jumped into Gloucestershire College and gained a BTEC National Diploma in Media Production; she also managed a student run multi-media platform that provided everything from events coverage for national conferences to video production for local organisations.
To gain experience, Jess arranged a work placement at a PR & Marketing company specialising in motor sport; she could really relate to the work after growing up with motor sport and gained valuable experience. This enforced that University wasn’t for her; instead she contacted The Giggle Group in Bristol and completed a Creative and Digital Apprenticeship, where she experienced being on set for BBC’s Casualty and Channel 4’s Embarrassing Bodies, as well as doing animation and graphic design.
After travelling Australia and other areas of the world, Jess reflected on her work experiences and chose to focus on PR & Marketing to start a successful career that complements where her talents lie. That’s where we come in! With her experience, self-confessed organisation addiction, and obligatory tea drinking skills, Jess applied and after a lovely interview discussing mainly The Great British Bake Off, she’s now a part of the team!
Here’s what Jess has to say about the whole thing: ‘I am really excited for the future with apt because not only have I joined a fab agency with so many varied clients and fascinating projects, I will also be encouraged to grow and I feel assured that I will receive support and advice to build upon my existing skills.’
