Apts Favourite First Tweets

To celebrate Twitter turning 8 last week, the social media site set up a web page enabling users to look back at their first ever tweet. Considering the tweets were sent up to 8 years ago shows how the site has changed since its launch, including the increased popularity in hashtags, trends, re-tweeting and interacting with other users using at-replies ‘@’, all of which were  unique to the site.

Here, we’ve taken a look at our first ever Tweet and some big brands. Here’s a few of our favourites:

Marks and Spencer gave a lovely welcome but wasn’t aware that symbols couldn’t be used in hashtags at the time:
