This week confirmed the news that Real Madrid will face local rivals Atletico Madrid in the final of the Champions League in Lisbon on the 24th May.
To mark the occasion sponsors MasterCard, along with the signature of Portuguese superstar, Deco; has launched a competition to offer a once in a lifetime experience for 22 lucky children to be an Official Player Mascot for the UEFA Champions League Final later on this month.
However, like the Champions League itself it’s no easy feat to be the winner of this competition. To enter applicants must be a registered cardholder with MasterCard and ‘like’ the company’s’ Facebook page. They then must complete the application form before obtaining at least 10 votes to be in with a chance of going through to the next stage of the contest - the prize draw where the lucky winners will be announced.
The competition is supported by a brilliant two minute advertisement featuring ex-Porto midfielder, Deco, who acts as the manager to a cute miniature dream team of football superstars; inviting them for a top secret Player Mascot Training Camp to hone their skills.
Some of the lookalikes include global superstars Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, Chelsea defender David Luiz and a cool looking Edgar Davids who of course was donning his infamous glasses.
The advertisement itself has already burst the back of the net after amassing over 40,000 views in its first two days of being uploaded onto their YouTube channel. Together this has formed a strong and unique competition that gives away a truly remarkable prize. It’s a prize draw that will no doubt help raise the awareness of MasterCard but also potentially incentivises more people to become MasterCard cardholders.
Let’s just hope these children don’t start demanding £300,000 a week pocket money wages off their parents!
