My Week at APT - Beth Howard

Not really knowing what to expect, I stepped into the office on Monday morning to be greeted by Ceefer and Zotti, the APT office dogs. The week was off to a flying start.

From scheduling social media posts to writing and uploading blog posts for a range of clients, all of the experience I’ve gained in just one short week will stay with me for a long time. Writing content to go on both the APT website as well as the websites of their clients has been a really rewarding experience, and I’ve learned a lot about tailoring writing to specific audiences and working to please as many clients as possible.

The girls in the office have been nothing but welcoming and we’ve had lots of laughs along the way. They even went so far as to ask me exactly what I wanted to get out of the week and if there was anything in particular I’d like to experience.

After mentioning that I was really interested in going into PR, Jess set me up with a draft press release to write for a pretty high-profile client, and I got to talk to Victoria W, the agency’s PR freelancer, about everything PR and how to land myself a job after university.

I’d highly recommend APT if you’re looking for a work placement in the industry, the girls here in the office are ever so friendly and they’re amazing mentors too.
