Premier Inn Reserves Rooms For England World Cup Standbys

With the 2014 World Cup under a month away, businesses are doing all they can to get involved in one of the biggest events in the sporting calendar.

The England World Cup squad was announced this week and Premier Inn has come out in support of the players on Roy Hodgson’s standby list. John Ruddy, Michael Carrick, Tom Cleverley, John Stones, Jermain Defoe, Andy Carroll and Jon Flanagan have all been given a reserved room at the hotel in Heathrow Airport until June 2nd – the last day the standby players can be called to be in the final squad.

A Premier Inn spokesperson said: “We look after plenty of travellers who need to travel on short notice, so it makes sense for us to offer this special service to the England hopefuls. The unpredictable nature of injuries, combined with a significant time difference, means that the players could be called up at anti-social times and with very little notice.

If they’re checked in at our Bath Road site they not only benefit from our Good Night guarantee and luxurious Hypnos bed, but they’ll be on a jet within hours feeling great and a good night’s sleep.”

We’ve already seen some great World Cup marketing from other companies including Mastercard, Coca-Cola and Pepsi. For us Premier Inn has come up with the best PR stunt so far and with less than a month to go until the 2014 World Cup kicks-off, we’re looking forward to seeing what clever stunts other companies come up with!
