Uwe Internship Scheme Brings Two New Faces To Apt

Following several successful internships and placements in the past, this year we have taken on two new faces for the summer. Harriet Duggan and Denise Darko-Mensah, both students at the University West of England in Bristol, are joining our team for eight weeks of marketing and PR experience.

Harriet has recently completed her second year studying Marketing. So far she has enjoyed her course particularly her Consumer Behaviour module. “It’s so interesting thinking out of the box, looking at things from a consumer’s point of view rather than the businesses” said Harriet who is also interested in branding, social media and public relations. “I have only been here for three days and I can already say I have really learnt some valuable things that will help me not only with my final year studies, but in my future career”. Harriet is working closely with Abbie, our PR Account Executive. This week she has been helping draft press releases and creating press lists for clients, she has also put together a press pack for upcoming Lakefest.

Denise has also finished her second year of university studying Marketing Communications. Over the year she has enjoyed her Integrated Communications where she had to write her first ever campaign. “What I like about this module, the module made me realised the power of social media and the importance of building relationships with your clients. To think that Facebook was just about reconnecting with old friends, it is amazing how several companies now use it as a platform to gain full engagement with their clients’’ said Denise. She is working closely with Kelly, our Marketing Account Manager where this week she has helped manage our clients social media pages, ensuring posts are uploaded on time and all enquiries are dealt with.

We welcome Denise and Harriet to our team and look forward to having them with us for the next 8 weeks - now they both know how to make tea and coffee!
