Green Bike Trail

Background:

The Cheltenham Festival of Cycling required an excitement and buzz associated with the Tour of Britain with vibrant visuals for residents and visitors to enjoy.

Objectives:

To involve the general public and high street businesses in promoting the Cheltenham Festival of Cycling with zingy lime green bikes around town to welcome the Tour of Britain's arrival.

"We would really like to thank all of our supporters and the Butterfly Garden as this project wouldn't have been completed without their support."

Actions:

Nearly 100 bikes were donated and volunteers from the council and the Butterfly Garden in Bamfurlong painted them a very eye-catching zesty green - to match the colour of the leader’s jersey in the race. apt generated a number of art bikes located around the town of Cheltenham painted by artists, businesses and the public.

Results:

The Winning Bike, by artists Glynn Griffiths and David Baldwin at Montpellier Roundabout was brought to life with help from CGT Lettings, ‘Bikes4Africa’  and ‘Access Bike’.
