It’s that time of the year again, the time for the Super Bowl to grip and captivate almost every American with one of the most watched sporting events in the world.
It’s that time of the year again, the time for the Super Bowl to grip and captivate almost every American with one of the most watched sporting events in the world. Who will be victorious and be crowned the champions of the National Football League?
But for us here at APT, our attention is drawn to the large, impressive display of adverts that are produced to try and rake in the money rather than the sport. There was most definitely an extensive range this year: some funny, some clever and of course some tugging at the heart strings.
With comical commercials, they sometimes can fail miserably and completely miss the mark, however there are some out there that are cleverly thought and actually funny.
Here is our round up of the funniest adverts that aired this year; the ones that truly provided some laughter in the office!
Cheetos: Can’t touch this
MC Hammer stars in this commercial by popping out of random objects to say ‘can’t touch this’ to emphasise what happens when your hands are covered in Cheeto dust.
Avocados from Mexico: Home Shopping Network
Every year, Avocados from Mexico displays some hilarious adverts for the Super Bowl. This year, it spoofs the Home Shopping Network with accessories for your avocado.
Doritos: The Cool Ranch
The two-time Grammy winner Lil Nas X made a special appearance alongside ‘A Star is Born’ actor Sam Elliot and the result of their mismatched duel turned dance off did not disappoint.
Rocket Mortgage: Jason Mamoa
While it may’ve been obvious that there was some digital trickery at play during this advert, this commercial undoubtedly hilariously shocked the nation by exposing Jason Mamoa as a super thin, nearly hairless man!
Little Caesars: Best thing since sliced bread
‘The Office’ star Rainn Wilson features in this comedic advert where his character gets a rude awakening after learning customers think the pizza chain’s new delivery service is ‘the best thing since sliced bread’.
