A Night Of Glitz Glamour And Unexpected Events Babtac Cibtac Awards
Yesterday, Angie and Victoria from apt travelled to London to support the much-anticipated awards ceremony for long-standing clients BABTAC&CIBTAC; held at the Royal Garden Hotel in Kensington, the awards celebrate high-calibre professionals in the beauty industry, recognising exceptional standards of treatments, training and innovation.
Arriving at 2pm yesterday afternoon, Angie & Victoria checked in to the gorgeous Kensington Close Hotel, laden with the makings of a glamorous night. Popping to the venue round the corner, preparations were certainly underway with lighting and sound checks and table decorating, not to mention goody bag packing! ‘Make-up artist of the Year’ finalists were also arriving, overloaded with an impressive and comprehensive array of make-up, brushes, accessories and outfits for the makings of some award-winning styles.
On tenterhooks for the three-hour final of the category, we were left tapping our feet awaiting the arrival of the final model; a non-appearance left us one-man down and a tentative look to Victoria saw her stepping into the breach as a ‘make-do’ model! Make-up artist ‘Joggy’ had originally planned for a much darker skin-tone and had to work hard to match Victoria’s pale complexion, but no fear, she succeeded with a glamorous, exotic, Moulin-Rouge-esque finish in black and gold. The other pieces were inspired by The Black Swan, High Fashion and the Flower Fairies.
On to the evening and a lovely drinks reception was followed by an excellent speech from Carolyne Cross, Chair BABTAC&CIBTAC, a lovely three-course dinner and of course, the very glamorous and deserving winners.
