Scientists and marketers have come together to create an explosive experimental marketing campaign; The Science World Museum and Rethink Canada have joined forces to create a series of adverts that combine smart facts with creative thinking, to inform the nation that science can be fun!
Some of the adverts weren’t cheap, with one giant billboard covered in gold stating “2oz. of gold can cover a billboard” costing a whopping $6,000. Now, two ounces may not sound like an awful lot, but they hired two guards to protect the masterpiece around the clock. The collaboration placed an array of ambient ads in a variety of public places and each are as witty and educational as the next.
It seems like a new generation of unique and engaging marketing campaigns are on the horizon and we are pleased to see that people are starting to “think outside the box”. Genius ideas are more and more becoming the norm and consumers are beginning to expect phenomenal and outrageous marketing stunts from their favourite brands (ahem...Felix Baumgartner). The only question that’s left to ask is how far will brands go to be noticed?
