Apple Without Jobs A Year On

Apple

A year has passed since the death of Apple's co-founder Steve Jobs. He left behind a great legacy; however the marketing and tech industries are undecided as to how long the 'Jobs' monopoly will continue.

Steve Jobs made Apple what it is today. He returned the company to form in 1998 and overhauled many of the product lines through a rebranding exercise. Apple Macintosh became iMac, and then he introduced the iPod, iTunes, iPhone, iPad. He also saved the company as it was on the verge of bankruptcy! Steve was a forerunner in providing digital distribution to the domestic consumer in an accessible and easy way.

The success of these iconic gadgets not only created a lucrative financial platform for Apple but also propelled the company to become the world’s most valuable publicly traded company when it superseded Exon in July 2012.

The last product Jobs was directly involved in was the newest product to be seen on the market. He developed the iPhone 5 right up until the day he died.

In the immediate future we are likely to see more of a direct reflection from Tim Cook’s sole influences opposed to Steve Jobs, along with the apparent change in culture at Apple’s head office in Cupertino. Tim has made Apple more available by taking some of the secrecy away, making the company more efficient with less stock sat in warehouses.

This is going to be an interesting phase for Apple as they have done so well under the reign of Jobs. His creative thinking led the brand to where it is today and we will soon see if Cook’s new influences are going to match up. As we love all things Apple, we will be keeping a close eye on the evolution of this illustrious brand.

Jobs is known as an artist/visionary, the question is, can Tim keep coming up with these innovations on his own? Tim has been in charge for 15 months and many are waiting for something really WOW to be released. Will he rise to the challenge? Watch this space…
