Are You Ready For A Zombie Attack

Amazon.com definitely is!; but don’t panic, they’ve got you covered! This holiday season, the team at Amazon.com encourages doomsday-ers to ditch the traditional stocking fillers and load up on essential survival supplies, in case the disease-ridden, dead rise (or we suddenly realise that 2012 wasn’t just some bad apocalyptic film!).

The online retailer has created a ‘Zombie Apocalypse Supplies’ page and has chosen a collection of items that will greatly increase your chances of survival. If you plan to outlive the majority of the population, this might be the right time to take the apocalypse more seriously. There are products for brain protection, first aid supplies and even hunting accessories which promise to help you locate and eradicate those pesky zombies. Our favourite at apt, simply for the sheer comedy value and cleverness, is the ability to buy zombie costumes – just in case the phrase ‘if you can’t beat them, join them’ springs to mind!

While there is little chance of this happening, the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention embraced the rumours and jokingly issued a ‘Zombie Preparedness’ document. Although this was created to be a go-to guide should flesh-eaters suddenly appear; it actually has some merit to it, advising, ‘If you are generally well equipped to deal with a zombie apocalypse you will be prepared for a hurricane, pandemic, earthquake, or terrorist attack. So please log on, get a kit, make a plan, and be prepared!’

Regardless of the commercial motivations behind Amazon.com’s page (and unbelievably, so many others), a zombie apocalypse is a very real threat! So take a look and stock up because things are getting weirder and if you’re not prepared now, don’t complain when you’re left behind…as a zombie!
