Cadbury marked the start of National Picnic Week on Monday with the unveiling of a special Cadbury picnic bench, made solidly from Dairy Milk chocolate! The bench was created using 400 Cadbury Picnic bars, weighing in at over 60kg. At apt we all agreed this was a great way to celebrate the start of National Picnic Week, but as an office full of women we also agreed that we could think of a few other things we could do with 60kg of chocolate!
Prudence Staite, Food Artist at Food Is Art, visited the bench where it was unveiled at the Cotswold Wildlife Park in Oxfordshire, and commented on the life-sized solid chocolate picnic bench saying ‘what better way to enjoy the great British outdoors than by nibbling on your favourite chocolate! The bobbly nature of the Picnic bar, due to its combination of milk chocolate and peanuts and puffed rice, meant I had to sit on a padded cushion!’
National Picnic Week, which runs from the 17th-23rd June, aims to address some of the concerns facing the food and drink industry, but also gives us all an excuse to enjoy the nice weather and celebrate British picnicking in all its glory! We wonder what will get to the picnic bench first, The Sun, or a group of hungry picnickers…
