Etch A Sketch Pays Tribute To Late Inventor

Untitled
Etch A Sketch has provided generations of children (and adults!) with endless hours of fun. The thick, flat grey screen set in a red plastic frame is a well known drawing toy which was invented by the late André Cassagnes. Following the recent death of the French inventor, the brand’s advertising agency has released a sad but lovely tribute in his memory to celebrate the iconic magic screen. Although the brand has released one off ads before it does not happen very often; signifying the tribute is all the more special.

The unique ad shows an Etch A Sketch upside down; featuring the classic round drawing knobs as eyes and a sketched on frown, personifying the loveable and retro toy. However, if held the right way up it shows a smiling face; conveying that the epic toy will continue to bring joy to countless children (and adults!) in years to come.
