Facebook Ice Cream Gets Cold Reception

It’s no surprise that with its high popularity, plenty of products have been endorsed with the Facebook name. It is possible to buy phone cases, books, stamps, shoes, cups, cushions, t-shirts and even shower curtains all created using the social networking brand.

However a new product launch has left us wondering whether it has been taken a step too far.

Unofficial Facebook ice cream has been created by Croatian brothers Admir and Idi Adili; made up of vanilla ice cream topped with light blue syrup including the Facebook logo.

Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook creator, is yet to comment on the product and we struggle to find a viable reason why he would acknowledge this as an official Facebook product; the blue syrup isn’t even the right colour!

Slate, daily web magazine, has turned this story on its head and created anecdotal ice cream flavours for other brands; here are some of our favourites:

“Yahoo: Bright purple, tastes like grape sherbert. Was all the rage until a bunch of better flavours came along”

“Netflix: Addictive. As soon as you finish one scoop, a recommendation pops up with another flavour you might enjoy”

“Samsung: Virtually indistinguishable from Apple, but slightly cheaper.”
