How To Guide Company Pages On Linkedin

LinkedIn have redesigned their Company Pages to enable professionals to showcase their company in a way that will enhance their business and allow them to network efficiently. The old design was static, simple and didn’t give you the option to personalise your page; now, the popular site has taken note from social media pioneers Facebook and Twitter, and has introduced features that will help companies become more hands-on.

Featuring a new large brand image similar to Facebook’s cover photo, the redesign is aesthetically pleasing, and it will allow you to be more creative with your image in order to attract customers to your page. You can ‘jazz it up a bit’, by linking it to your profile image or you can use the space to display some of your top products.

The fantastic streamlined design allows you to put your products/services under the spotlight meaning you can select specific products that you think fellow professionals in your network want to see.

What’s more, LinkedIn has listened to feedback and has finally introduced a greater prominence for status updates and featured posts. This is by far our favourite change as we can now engage with all our followers! Before, you could only update personal status’ which isn’t the best way of engaging with customers rather than colleagues, giving you greater flexibility to update your customers with any relevant updates or interesting industry news. There is an additional feature that allows you to move a post to the top of your page to highlight its importance and the floor is also open to your customers and they can like, comment or share your post, similar to Facebook and Twitter.

We have wanted to update our company page for ages, and we found it really frustrating that we were so limited in what we could do. We are glad that LinkedIn are finally moving forward and have begun to catch up with the social media giants.

One last thing, if you are reading this from a smart phone, company pages are now available through mobile and iPad apps too, so you can now reach your customers anywhere. Take a look at our new company page to see what all the fuss is about.
