It has been identified that 2013 is likely to be a ‘Super Stress Era’ for consumers, overwhelmed by the amount of communications we see daily. Selfridges has created a new initiative ‘No Noise’, to help reduce stress and “celebrate the power of quiet, see the beauty in function and find calm among the crowds.” The retailer will create a ‘Silence Room’ to relieve shoppers from the chaotic world outside.
Upon entry to the room customers will be invited to ‘de-tech’ and leave their phones at the door. The room will allow them to zone out in relaxation pods or do some shopping. Yes, for those shopaholics out there, Selfridges has gathered together an assortment of de-branded ‘quiet’ products; by removing all the ‘brand noise’, shoppers will have a shopping experience like never before.
If this isn’t enough, Selfridges has teamed
up with Headspace, pros on meditation, to give extra busy heads a little helping
hand. Throughout the store there will be pods offering different guided meditation, whether it be for commuting or love. You can give
some a go on their website...
