Coke

We know we've spoken lots recently about Coca-Cola and we also know you have probably gone and got yours already, but we had to give a quick mention to Coca-Cola’s latest idea to boost sales...personalised bottles! The ‘Share A Coke’ campaign replaces the traditional Coke branding with consumer names in a bid to drive up personalisation of the brand. Coke has worked closely with an independent expert to develop a list of the UK’s 150 most popular names; which have been printed on 375ml and 500ml bottles of Coke, Diet Coke and Coke Zero. Excitingly, this has coincided with the return of the Vanilla Coke edition, yum!!

Bizarrely, some of the chosen names aren’t what we would have expected to be in the top 150; like Faisal or Mandeep. Equally, we were quite surprised that some of our names weren’t on the list; we can understand Kalli not being on there as it’s an unusual name but Angela? They could have forgone the extra spellings of Katherine/Kathryn and Claire/Clare and made their product accessible to more people!

Also, has anyone else noticed the little mishap in the advert? One of the chaps holds a bottle saying his name ‘Dauntaye’; this is not on the list! Bad form Coca-Cola! Anyway, if you’re unfortunate enough to not have found your name on a bottle yet then don’t fret! Coca-Cola is planning on running the campaign throughout the summer and will be introducing the chance to get your own bottle personalised, so be sure to watch this space!Or, if your name isn’t on a bottle and you can’t wait to get your own like Kalli, please place your orders here for apt’s new and improved design...

The name is printed onto a removable sticker to encourage the ethos of ‘Share A Coke’!
