More Than Just A Beer Bottle

Milan Design Week offered a powerful insight into how nightclubs could look in just a few years time; with the unveiling of Heineken’s latest mobile innovation concept. The ‘Ignite’ light-up beer bottle was revealed in an extraordinary YouTube video last week.

The specially designed bottle is not what you might expect; and does more than just hold your beer! Using its eight built-in LED lights, minute processor and wireless receiver; the bottle reacts not only when it’s being sipped from or toasted with, but also synchronises to music in a nightclub, flashing to the beat of the music. When left unused, the lights fade away into ‘sleep mode’.

Although it’s not yet clear when the bottles will become widely available, a Heineken spokesperson states that ‘specific next steps/roll out are being determined within the coming months’, so that’s something to look forward to!
