Last week, apt welcomed Thais Donovan to the team for a week of work experience. Currently studying at Balcarras School, Thais was interested in learning more about the PR & Marketing industry and by joining our busy office, she definitely got some hands on experience!
"This week, I have had the privilege and pleasure to spend my work experience at apt marketing and PR…and what a week it’s been!
When I first arrived, I gingerly entered the building and was greeted with an array of smiling and slightly perplexed faces (I believe that only a few of the people at the office were warned about my visit). Just as soon as the slightly awkward greetings and pleasantries were exchanged I was kindly ushered to a desk and I was given a set of instruction papers to get me started.
Fast forward to my second day, I was feeling much more at home and I was really excited to complete all the tasks that I had been set. Throughout my week here, the assignments I was given were of varying difficulty and admittedly I did struggle with one or two, however I am pleased that I managed to get the gist of everything and that I was able to accomplish every task to the best of my ability. What I enjoyed the most about my week here at apt was being able to actually complete relevant tasks and being allowed to have my work posted onto a selection of different webpages. I have to say that going home and telling all your friends and family that a blog post you have written has made it to the big wide world of the internet is certainly very rewarding!
I also want to mention that I have had a great time with everyone in the office and I would like to take this opportunity to thank absolutely everyone for being so kind, helpful and welcoming. I would especially like to thank Victoria and Angie for giving me the work placement in the first place and also to Jess for having an endless amount of patience with me and for showing me the ropes with an abundance of friendliness and understanding! Even though it has only been a week, I feel completely included in the team and I will mostly definitely miss my time at apt and all of the team too!"
