Nike certainly has built a legacy of cinematic, professionally entertaining adverts that get the average, uninterested audience to watch and appreciate.
Nike brought out its Vapor Trail advert in anticipation of the new football season; and that was a cinematic masterpiece of moody lighting, slow-motion skills and gale-force manoeuvres.
At apt we had a look at the new January Golf advert by Nike and there were people with no interest in golf standing by, admiring the skill involved and smiling at the same time.
The piece is much more airy and less moody than the football boots release, but it speaks more. It explains, in an unassuming way, to people who don’t give much mind to golf that the game is worth considering. That, we think, is really good advertising.
Hats off to Nike.
