Paddy Powers Royal Baby Betting Boom

The Royal Baby has been a hot topic of conversation across the UK since Kate Middleton’s pregnancy was revealed earlier this year, and you can wager that he or she has also been the subject of high-stakes betting, with high street bookmakers cashing in on the public’s baby-related predictions.

Punters are furiously laying bets across all Royal Baby related estimates; will the baby be a boy or a girl? Will the future British monarch be named Charlotte or Henry? Will it weigh in at 7 pounds or 9? High Street bookmaker Paddy Power has been taking full advantage of this betting boom and is still accepting bets across a number of baby-related predictions, with less than two weeks to go until the Duchess of Cambridge’s due date. Paddy Power revealed the current odds for the babies’ predicted hair colour in a rather disturbing publicity stunt earlier on this week. The campaign saw 4 men dressed up as ugly babies, modelling the current hair-colour odds as they made a few pit stops around London’s most popular tourist hotspots, including uncle Prince Harry’s favourite London hangout ‘Boujis’ and Buckingham Palace.

A Paddy Power spokesman said: ‘According to our patriotic punters we could soon be welcoming Princess Alexandra or Prince George, born on the 17th of July with brown hair weighing in at 7lbs.

‘They say the best things come to those who wait and anyone taking up our 500/1 accumulator could be next in line for a right royal payout should their hunch come good.’
