The Public Relations Consultants Association has recently announced that it will be backing the new master’s level degree in PR apprenticeship to nurture its future workforce. It’s one of the first industries in the UK to offer young apprentices a degree level qualification in partnership with a University.
Director General at the PRCA, Francis Ingham has said “Introducing PR apprenticeships have helped agencies and in-house teams diversify the way they recruit junior staff and grow their own talent.” Since last year the PRCA has been accredited as an official training provider. “This means that we can ensure the quality of the courses apprentices in the industry take to meet our own standards.” Francis added.
Enabling students to work as they learn, the 12-18 month course will be offered to both graduate trainees and new recruits to enable individuals to take their personal development to a new level and extend the benefits of an apprenticeship to the wider industry.
Here at apt, we think that it’s great the PRCA are offering apprentices a chance to gain a Degree Level qualification without having to pay huge amounts of money to actually go to Uni. We are firm believers in nurturing people and as you can see by our blog we have had many interns join us to gain valuable experience and learn new skills within the PR & Marketing environment. Our apprentice Kristina, who originally started as an intern (but turns out she was just too good!) is having a ball...if you don’t believe us see so yourself!
