Our client, The StreetVelodrome Series, the UK’s first and only pop-up velodrome event, will be offering the public a sneak preview at the NEC Cycle Show this month (26th-29th September). The concept for the StreetVelodrome Series was created to reflect the growing appetite for the drama of close action track racing and encourage community and spectator engagement.
Within two hours, any high street or public space is turned into a heart pounding, action packed theatre of track style cycle sport; offering a new level of spectator involvement and creating a completely new competition for both professional and amateur riders. The velodrome is also available for private hire to provide an edge to any event or occasion.
(StreetVelodrome during the test event in Whitchurch earlier this month)
The StreetVelodrome Series, set to be televised on Channel 4, The Sky Sports Network and British Eurosport, has developed strong partnerships with UK Youth and the UK Anti-Doping Agency (UKAD) to bring about awareness of the positive impact sport can have on society by providing opportunities directly in the heart of Britain’s towns and cities; whilst promoting the importance of fair competition.
The SV stand, located in Hall 11, B64, will offer members of the public the opportunity to find out more about the cycle sport concept and the uniqueness of the technique behind the racing; with experienced and professional riders available to offer some hints and tips on handling the banked corners. Just in case that wasn’t enough to have you convinced, they will also be airing footage from the test event which took place earlier this month, just as another little teaser.
There will be members of the team available to talk you through their free membership, which will guarantee priority entry in one of the most exciting and innovative cycling events in the UK. Your free sign up will ensure you receive hot-off-the-press information on the StreetVelodrome Series in the form of an e-newsletter, as well as discounts and exclusive offers; there will also be a prize draw to win a StreetVelodrome Series special edition bike!
If you can’t wait to sign up for your chance to be part of one of the ten events please visit their Events Page, alternatively, we will see you at the NEC!
