Share The Love Online

It appears that our favourite four legged, hoofed friends are taking the lime light again with the new advert from 3. This time we see a cute Shetland pony moon walking to Fleetwood Mac, until a local farmer drives past and the pony hides its stylish moves. Just like many other adverts launched recently, mobile network 3 are attempting to think even more outside of the box in order to engage further with their audience.

The ad is completely irrelevant to the brand and consumers would never have guessed that it belongs to a company in the mobile network sector, but this doesn’t matter, as more importantly it is memorable. Everyone is talking about the well groomed dancing pony, allegedly named Socks, which has meant the advert with the slogan ‘Silly stuff. It matters’ has done its job.

If this isn’t enough the campaign also features an opportunity for consumers to show off their creativity by offering them a chance to make their own Shetland pony mash up video to share online. This takes us back to the whole aim of this campaign, which is to encourage people to post and share more fun uploads online (whilst supporting brand awareness). Thanks Socks, you have definitely brightened up our social networking.
