Take Off Out Of This World With Lynx

Lynx has taken a page from the Red Bull book, sending one of their fans up into space in their new campaign for its Apollo brand. Yes, real space! The new campaign fronted by Apollo 11 pilot, Buzz Aldrin, is apparently worth £12.6 million and will run until April 2013.

The Lynx Apollo website has been built to support a cross-media campaign and comprises a variety of quirky features. Consumers can enter the competition online   but will need to complete a variety of tasks that definitely put future Buzz’s through their paces; Lynx are certainly not making this an easy win!

Along with the website is the new TV advert with the strap line ‘nothing beats an astronaut’. A good looking fireman saves a damsel in distress from a burning building, then thinks he has got lucky until a fully geared up astronaut turns up...

Lynx has excelled with the launch; astronauts arrived in the UK along with a replica of the Lynx SXC (Space Expedition Corporation) space shuttle which is what the winner of the competition will be blasted up to space in. The shuttle that weighs 1.5 tonnes can be seen this weekend (12th and 13th January) at Westfield White City.
