Tweeting Music

Twitter
Keep your eyes peeled for what could be Twitter’s newest service, Twitter Music. According to what we’ve heard on the grapevine, the social media giants will be launching a music service for its users. Music app creators, We Are Hunted, commented yesterday on their website that the business ‘will continue to create services that will delight you, as part of the Twitter team’.

Rumour has it that twitter will be refurbished, with the ability to make recommendations for rising artists and tracks based on tweeters’ current activity; using the handle #NowPlaying. Twitter Music could even hit your computers and smartphones as early as this weekend!

The announcement follows speculation that Twitter had planned to launch its own music service this year. Over the last 12 months Twitter has been expanding and spreading its support like wildfire; offering support to videos, pictures and interactive content in a bid to boost revenue through advertising. Now they have acquired We Are Hunted, launched in 2009, a music service used to track the most popular songs across the internet and social media sites, while creating dynamic playlists that could be streamed by its users. This is an exciting development for Twitter and we look forward to their future innovations.
