Twitter Announces New Survey Tool

Twitter survey

Twitter has created a new ‘Survey Tool’ in order to help brands measure how effective their ad campaigns are on the platform. Currently being tested in the US by a small sample of advertisers, Twitter Surveys should be made available to the public at the start of 2013.

The Survey pops up on a user’s timeline and invites them to complete a series of questions. The results of the impromptu survey is said to help advertisers gain a greater insight into how effective their campaigns are. Twitter further exclaims that, "it will give brands better insights to determine purchase intent, overall awareness, and other advertising metrics and analytics that can lead to greater engagement on Twitter".

The social media company has teamed up with the research agency Nielson to launch the survey tool. When a new survey is launched the tweet containing this new tool, will appear both on computers and smart phones. This enables the survey to reach a wider audience, including those who are on the go, to gain a more diverse response.

This new tool is potentially going to enable access to a bank of new information for advertisers to take advantage of. We look forward to seeing the surveying tool being used in 2013!
