Warburtons have confirmed they will be releasing an ‘All Ends’ loaf of bread, after the ‘joke loaf’ was published on Facebook as an April fool’s joke!
It all started as prank when Warburtons posted the spoof image of the crust loaf on their Facebook page on April 1st. But the concept, which formed part of the brand’s ongoing social media engagement, managed to bowl over the crust-lovers of Facebook across Britain, generating thousands of ‘likes’ and hundreds of keyed up comments.
Marketing director Mark Simester claimed the company had “no idea that the spoof loaf would receive such an enthusiastic response”, and has consequently confirmed that in fact they will be releasing the ‘All Ends’ loaf! As you might be able to guess by the name, the loaf will comprise entirely of crust ends from the Warburton’s Toastie range.
As a result, the UK’s Number 1 bakery brand has been busy baking and developing a number of ‘All Ends’ loaves, which are being sent out in samples to its biggest Facebook fans to try and taste, before the quirky loaf is released in supermarkets.
