What A Hat Mosphere At Blackfriars

Our client, The Gloucester Hat Festival, hosted their first ever ‘World Hat Day’ celebration on the 15th January.  In true apt style, obviously because we didn’t want to miss out on all the fun, some of the staff went over to join in the huge range of activities on offer. The day was a great success, with loads of school children getting involved in hat drumming and various hat games hosted by Active Connections. The kids were also given the opportunity to discover their creative side whilst reducing their carbon footprint, with eco hat making. The evidence of their enjoyment was scattered all over the floor in the form of various recyclable materials, but don’t worry all of the remains were tidied up as there were lots of volunteers on hand to help. The event took place in the enchanting Blackfriars Priory, a historic building dating back to 1239, which boasts the oldest surviving purpose-built library in Britain.

The support from the community was overwhelming and without their support events like these could not happen! All the proceeds of the event went to the Cedars Amethyst Trust and Gloucestershire’s Young Carers Charities. This event is one of many leading up to the Gloucester Hat Festival in 2013, make sure you keep the 12th-13th July free and we will see you there!
